ABOUT

I’m an award-winning filmmaker with 24 years of experience in specialist factual TV, 21 of those in a Producer/Director role.

I make high-end shows for the major US and UK broadcasters. I develop strong, clear narratives out of complex subjects and tease out unexpected storylines from the smallest nuggets of information. I am tenacious, and ambitious for my films, especially when it involves chasing a difficult story, tricky access, or unearthing brand new revelatory details. With versatility in tone and style, I can suit specific broadcasters’ needs. I've used CGI, animation, and drama reconstruction.

In 2021 I helped originate and subsequently Series Produce Underworld, a five-part international caving series. The shows feature expeditions that employ 3D laser scanning technology to solve mysteries underground and reveal CGI visualisations of the hidden realm beneath our feet. The series was built on my work in 2019 when I won exclusive access to carry out the first 3D laser scan of the Thai cave where the schoolboys were trapped for 18 days. I developed, produced & directed the resulting film for Nat Geo’s strand Drain The Oceans.

Critic's Choice

"Drain The Oceans (National Geographic, 8pm) The thrilling true story of the 2018 rescue of 12 young footballers and their coach from the Tham Luang cave system in Thailand is told with the aid of technology. Laser scans demonstrate just how tight the bends were, but it is the stories of the rescuers themselves, forced to sedate the boys underground, that will tie your stomach in knots."      5 Jan 2020
